No — and that's the whole point. ExitPresent is deliberately neutral. It never advises you, scores you, or nudges you toward the door. Plenty of people go through these sessions and decide to stay, with a clearer sense of why. That's just as valid an outcome as leaving.

The name is about the space before a decision, not the decision itself. The exit starts before you quit — in the weeks when you finally get honest with yourself, whatever you end up choosing.

Each session, it asks you five questions about your work and how you're feeling about it. You answer out loud or by typing. Then it reflects back the one sentence that mattered most, and — over time — the words and patterns you keep returning to.

It's not a journal (no blank page), not a coach (no advice), and not a career tool (no job boards). It's closer to a good interviewer who only wants to help you hear your own answer.

People in limbo. Not miserable enough to quit today, not happy enough to stop thinking about it. If you've updated your resume but never sent it, or the Sunday-night feeling keeps coming back, this was built for you.

It's not for people in acute crisis, or people looking for job listings and salary comparisons — there are better tools for those.

Either works. You can speak your answers by holding the record button, or switch to typing at any point in a session — whatever feels easier in the moment. Some days talking is easier; some days you'd rather not make a sound. Both are fine.

No. You can start in guest mode — no sign-up, no email — and do full sessions right away. Your sessions are saved on your device. If you later want to sign in (with Apple, Google, or email), you can, so your data can back up across devices.

Yes. From the second question onward, you can choose "analyze what I have" and the app works with the answers you've given. Some days two honest answers is enough — you don't have to force all five.

Both. In the Conversations tab you can open any past session, edit what you said, and re-analyze it. You can also delete any single session, or all of them, whenever you want.

Optional. If you want, you can set a target date and a note about what you're moving toward. The app shows a quiet countdown to keep it present. It's not a deadline the app enforces or pressures you about — just something to hold onto while you think. Leave it blank and it stays out of your way.

On your device. Your sessions are stored locally in the app. Nothing is public, nothing is shared with other users, and there's no feed. If you sign in, your data can back up to your account so you don't lose it when you change phones.

Audio is sent to be transcribed into text, and the recording itself isn't kept afterward — the app works from the transcript. The AI providers that process the text operate under terms that prohibit using your data to train their models.

You can delete any session — or your whole account and all its data — from inside the app at any time. A full export feature (Markdown / JSON) is marked "coming soon" and is on the near-term roadmap.
